MVAC was established in 1974 by the local aboriginal community with the objective of improving general living standards for the Aboriginal people of Robinvale.
With the support of Government and charity organisations, Education, Welfare, Health and Housing programs were developed and operated by MVAC while settlements were established at Manatunga Reserve and later at Sand Pitts along the river, providing shelter for many local families coming to the town for work.
In collaboration with the rest of the LMARG group, MVAC are committed to supporting indigenous self-determination within their community. MVAC are focused on promoting empowerment, resilience and involvement. They aim to generate greater understanding of the challenges facing Indigenous people in the region and respond to these challenges strategically.
